Maryland Delegate Kirill Reznik has informed FightTicker.com this morning that both chambers of Maryland's legislature passed the opposing chamber's version of the MMA bill last night with about 30 minutes to spare before a mandated midnight deadline.
Now, both versions of the bill (House and Senate) move to Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley's desk. He can approve either version of the bill for MMA regulation to become law.
Delegate Reznik has informed FightTicker.com that while there is a bill-signing ceremony scheduled for today, the MMA bills are not on the docket and will be considered by Governor O'Malley at a later ceremony.
Governor O'Malley's approval is the final step before MMA is legally sanctioned in the state and all indications are that the governor favors passing of the bill.
