We weren't the only ones suffering from computer problems this week though. This past Saturday I decided to forgo the drive to Winchester and watch Gladiator Fight Club 3 via their first attempt at streaming fights live. The good news was that the stream looked great and once the announcers and graphics guys got settled in, the production value was pretty good. The bad new was that they started the event an hour late and only had the stream available for a set amount of time. The result being that everyone watching (about 50-75 people) online did not get to see the last 4 or 5 fights.
Since I did not get to see all the fights, I can not give out any awards for the event. If you attended the event, feel free to go on our forum and nominate a fighter or fight for recognition.
From what I saw the event was very good though and definitely cements GFC as one of the top amateur shows in the area. Aside from the ring announcer butchering the names of some of the fighters and schools (some are difficult, Ill give him a small break), the event looked to be run very professionally and had some of the top talent in the area fighting. Overall, its great to see a show in Central Virginia that provides quality on par with the Valhalla shows and some of the shows in Richmond. The more quality shows we get in the area, the better all the other shows and the fighters in them have to become.
Hopefully next time the live streaming works.
