DCMMA continues it's look at upcoming MMA events with Battlefield Fighting Championship.  As they prepare for their show on February 23rd at Central Station in Fredericksburg, Aaron from Battlefield Fighting Championship took time to sit down with us to answer a few questions about their event. 

DCMMA:  For those who dont know you guys yet, can you give us a quick introduction of your promotion and upcoming event?
Aaron:  Battlefield Fighting Championship (BattleFC.com) is designed for competitors of all martial arts backgrounds to come together and compete.  Our promotion is geared towards helping other fighters find equally matched fights.

DCMMA:  What sets you guys apart as a promotion?
Aaron:  One thing that sets us apart from other promotions is our focus on the fighters.  Our goal is to make the fighters feel as comfortable as possible prior to the fight and satisfied after the fight regardless of the outcome.  Some fighters will have their ups and downs.  We plan on sticking by our fighters if they are down. We also plan on assisting our stars move to professional status and to bigger fight venues where they can possibly make a living doing what they want.   Another thing we plan on doing is promoting womens mma in Virginia. 

DCMMA:  How did you guys go about finding fighters for this event?
Aaron:  Newspaper! just kidding.  We are connected in the mixed martial arts world and have very good relationships with many fight schools and fight promotions. 

DCMMA:  How important was it to find fighters from local schools?
Aaron:  We acquired a lot of local fighters.  We also acquired some fighters from out of town.  There was a lot of interest from the mma community. 

DCMMA:  Who is sponsoring this event? 
Aaron:  Hooters, profightwear, local car dealerships, The Lab Martial Arts Academy, ISCF, and the Marines.

DCMMA:  What are your plans for future events?
Aaron:  Continue to put on good fights in a friendly environment.  We strive to ensure all fighters are treated with respect.  The guys/girls in the cage are the true warriors and we want to ensure we get fans that appreciate their efforts.
